In our opinion, listening to some quality classic Afro Boogie tunes from time to time won’t hurt anybody… And laying hands on a tight Boogie 12″ is always a nice feeling !

Congossa by Sweetmary is no more than this, but playing it out loud on a good soundsystem is more than pleasing ! The man behind the production and the arrangements of this tune is not really an outsider : Ekambi Brillant, who worked and established a long and fruitful collaboration with Slim Pezin in the 1970’s, knows a thing or two about making tight arrangements… The Cameroonian producer got together a bunch of super good musicians (Just check this impressive rhythm section !!!) to provided a super tight Afro Boogie song on the B-side of a somewhat boring Song Of Freedom, and you can really feel that Congossa does not pretend to be more than a studio jam, but the fact is that IT’S MORE than a plain jam ! The musicians are having fun on this one but the master of Makossa, Ekambi Brillant, provides a super great production, mastering the recording of Sweetmary‘s voice and even adding some delay on the voice !

This one will definitively provide the best vibes for your Friday night party !!!!
