In July, I’ve been experimenting with taking over the show for two full hours, something that did not happen for almost a year. It took a very cinematic turn as I found myself wandering through the ruins of our civilization as depicted by Hollywood titans (James Cameron’s Terminator 2 and Joseph Von Sternberg’s final film, Anatahan).

The mix also earns his « cinematic » tag due to the use of music from legendary melodramas, from Pedro Almodovar’s Todo Sobre Mi Madre to Mankiewicz’ The Ghost and Mrs Muir. Of course, it ends with Bernard Herrmann’s heart-rending score for The Ghost and Mrs Muir by Joseph Mankiewicz. Joining the dots, music by artists whose albums have probably been labeled « cinematic » dozen of times like Serge Gainsbourg, Daevid Allen or Robert Ashley. In between, songs that I labeled « cinematic » by PWEI or Hosono.

Perfect for people who like to close their eyes in theaters.
